Vivian N Duong, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC

Vivian Duong enjoys her position as a board certified family nurse practitioner. She earned her license as a Vocational Nurse at CNI College in 2010, her bachelor’s degree at West Coast University in 2015, and her Master’s degree at California State of Long Beach University in 2020.

Vivian’s prior employment includes working at Hoag Hospital Irvine in the Emergency Department and Garden Grove Hospital in the ER and ICU departments.

As an individual who deeply cares about others, Vivian derives happiness from simply seeing patient’s smile as she helps contribute to their well-being. She describes her passion of being a nurse practitioner by stating: “I chose nursing as a career because nursing is challenging, interesting, and makes a difference in people’s lives daily. As a nurse, I am always challenging myself to keep current on medical trends. I find the greatest reward of my career as a nurse is that I have the opportunity to help people in their most vulnerable and unexpected moments. For some, coming to the emergency department can be one of the worst days of their lives. As an ER nurse, my job is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Every day as a nurse, I learn something new from my colleagues and patients, which inspires me to explore a deeper knowledge of the techniques and procedures I use.”

As Vivian experiences both the challenges and rewards of being a nurse, she has the support of her parents and son who likewise shares her interest in nursing. Her son is currently studying at UC Irvine and has the goal to pursue a career in the medical field.

Vivian cherishes spending time with her family. She also enjoys listening to audio books while driving, working out, traveling, trying new foods and learning about different cultures. Born and raised in Vietnam, she is fluent in both Vietnamese and English.
